About Peter
Peter is a golden retriever, but to many, he's becoming something more.
Every fall, he travels the country alongside his dad, college football and NFL analyst Kirk Herbstreit. During a season filled with airports, stadiums, and long weeks on the road, Peter keeps Kirk grounded. Together, they visit some of the most electric atmospheres in sports, meeting fans from every corner of the country.
But Peter isn't the first golden retriever to travel with Kirk.
Before Peter, there was Ben. For three seasons, Ben traveled alongside Kirk before passing away in the middle of the 2024 football season. When College GameDay shared a tribute to Ben's life, the response was overwhelming. It reminded us that what people loved wasn't just a dog on television. It was the bond between a man and his best friend, and the joy that relationship brought to millions of people. Ben showed us just how far a dog's joy could travel, and his impact became a big part of the inspiration behind Peter Fan Club.

Ben, and now Peter, have a way of bringing people together. Peter's calm, gentle personality has earned him a fan base of his own, but anyone who has met him knows his greatest quality isn't his popularity. It's the way he makes people feel.
In a sport built on rivalries, Peter gives everyone something to cheer for. Whether you are running into him at a college campus, seeing him on GameDay, or following his adventures from home, he has a way of reminding people to smile, slow down, and appreciate the simple things.
That's why the Peter Fan Club exists.
Our mission is to share a little more of the joy Peter brings into the world. Every piece we create is meant to spark a conversation, brighten someone's day, and remind people of the unconditional love that dogs bring into our lives. We wanted to create something that celebrates the great moments we have with our dogs while helping more people have those moments for longer.
A percentage of every Peter Fan Club sale will support local veterinary schools and/or dog-focused organizations in the communities Peter and Kirk visit throughout the season. Through our partnership with the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, we'll identify nonprofits and causes that align with our mission in each state and help support their work through Ben & Peter's Paws For A Cause.
Because anyone who has had a special dog knows how much they give us. We think that's worth celebrating, sharing, and giving back to.
